Early Life and Education
Mufti Munawar Sultan Nadwi began his religious education at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, where he completed the Aalimiyat (Graduation in Islamic Studies) in 1999. He then went on to earn the Fazilat in Fiqh (Specialization in Islamic Law) from the same institution in 2001.
His passion for advanced studies led him to Al-Mahad al-Aali al-Islami, Hyderabad, where he completed his Specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) in 2003. Through these years of rigorous study, he built a strong foundation in Islamic law, history, Arabic literature, and theology.
Career and Teaching
In 2005, Mufti Munawar Sultan joined his alma mater, Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, as a teacher. Since then, he has been actively teaching classical texts of Islamic law, including Hidaya, Sirajee, and Sharh Waqaya. His teaching style is known for its clarity and analytical depth, helping students understand not only the legal rulings but also their philosophical and historical background.
Besides teaching, he serves as the Office Secretary of Majlis-e-Tahqeeqat-e-Shariah, a research and advisory body under Nadwatul Ulama that deals with contemporary legal and jurisprudential issues in light of Islamic law. Through this position, he contributes to scholarly discussions and the application of Islamic jurisprudence in modern contexts.
